Festive Chocolate Date Nut Truffles

Serves 4-5

Enjoy the holidays (or any day) with these delicious Date Nut Truffles! They are easy to make, and healthier than most truffles. Dates provide natural sweetness, cocoa powder provides heart-healthy antioxidants, and unsalted nuts provide protein and healthy fats. Roll in coconut for a “snowball” effect.

Ingredients (organic/biodynamic)

  • 1 c. dates, pitted
  • 1 c. unsalted mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, or cashews)
  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Shredded coconut or crushed nuts for coating (optional)

Instructions

  • Blend dates, nuts, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract in a food processor until a sticky dough forms.
  • Roll the mixture into small truffle-sized balls.
  • Optionally, roll the truffle balls in shredded coconut or crushed nuts.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
