Vanilla-Cinnamon Steamed Pears

Serves 1–2

This simple recipe turns ripe pears into a warm, delicious, comforting treat. Gentle steaming preserves their natural sweetness and tender texture, while the combination of vanilla and Ceylon cinnamon fills your kitchen with a relaxing aroma. Enjoy as a quiet afternoon snack or a light dessert to help you slow down and savor the moment.

Ingredients (organic or biodynamic recommended)

  • 2 firm, ripe pears (Bartlett or Bosc are ideal)
  • 1-inch piece of vanilla bean, seeds scraped
  • ½ tsp ground Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 c. water

Instructions

  1. Peel the pears if you prefer a softer texture; slice them in half and remove the cores.
  2. Place pears in a steamer basket over simmering water. Add vanilla and cinnamon to the water below. The steam will infuse the pears with flavor as they soften.
  3. Cover and steam the pears for 8–10 minutes, until tender.
  4. Serve warm, with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon.
